EMILY’s List is a political action committee. It endeavors to recruit, educate, and uplift Democratic pro-choice women into political office in all manner of races (local, state and national) across the US. EMILY's List offers training for candidates and for those interested in running campaigns.

I always thought this group was named after someone called Emily. In fact, it is an acronym for "Early Money Is Like Yeast" because "it makes the dough rise." Women have become a powerful voting bloc with lots of funds. This organization zeros in on women candidates, women voters, women campaign managers, and the issues that affect women most. This pac has become more successful as the years pass and as the right of a woman to control her own body is stripped away. EMILY's List puts the resouces, training and people all together to place women in power so they can make the impactful decisions that affect women.
