This non-profit organization operates in 250 US cities and Canada. It provides one-on-one mentorship of young women to teach and prepare girls to lead independent lives. They focus on being strong and healthy, smart and educated, and bold and independent. They want to produce self-sufficient, confident women who lead and change communities. https://www.girlsinc.org
Girls, Inc. has a national advocacy and policy effort that works to ensure equality for low-income familities and specifically for girls that face discrimination based on sex, race, religion, ethnicity, immigration status, disability, socioeconomics, sexual orientation or gender identity. They advocate for equitable access to education, civic education and sex education in schools, Title IX issues, mental health support and voting rights. Part of their program is to teach the girls how to advocate for themselves in groups called Teen Advocacy Councils.
I like the format of this group because it's teaching the girls confidence through advocacy training so they literally learn to speak up for themselves and change their own lives.
