The League of Women Voters is a non-profit grassroots organization that works to ensure everyone is represented in elections through voting. The organization is nonpartisan and has local, state and national offices to carry out its mission.

This organization is important because it focuses on the growth of expanding the voter pool - not just for women, but men as well. The group is focused on getting citizens out to the polls. They support the drawing of fair redistricting lines that are not partisan as well. They encourage easy access to voting for all. The website instructs citizens on how to register to vote, where their polling location is, what is required for early voting or absentee voting, and more. https://www.lwv.org

I have volunteered for this organization in Austin and really enjoyed the experience! You can find LWV volunteers out at Alamo Drafthouse on the weekends encouraging citizens to register to vote. We talk to everyone and provide literature about how to vote and when to vote. Most everyone is receptive and open to talking to LWV volunteers. If you are over the age of 18, they will train you to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar and you can help people fill out the form to register to vote and submit it to the county registrar.
